Welcome to our school
It is a pleasure to welcome you to Leeming St John’s CE Primary School, a small, friendly school at the heart of the vibrant communities of Aiskew, Leeming Bar, Leeming and Londonderry.
As part of Synergy Schools Federation, we benefit from being part of a strong and collaborative organisation, sharing expertise, opportunities and resources while retaining our own unique identity and sense of community. We are a split-site school, with the unique opportunity to offer a dedicated Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Centre. Based at our EYFS Centre in the village of Leeming, the Centre provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for our youngest children, welcoming children from the age of two in our nursery through to the end of their Reception year. This dedicated provision enables us to give our youngest learners the very best start to their educational journey.
Our children in Years 1–6 are based at our main school site in Leeming Bar, just half a mile down the road. This arrangement allows us to provide dedicated facilities and environments that meet the needs of children at different stages of their learning journey, while maintaining a strong sense of belonging as one school family. Staff work across both sites, building strong relationships with children and families, sharing their knowledge and expertise, and ensuring continuity of care, learning and support. This helps us to maintain a strong sense of belonging and identity as one school family, despite being based across two locations.
